OSHA Updates Recordkeeping Rule

On September 18, 2014, OSHA updated the Recordkeeping Rule – Effective January 1, 2015 for all Establishments completing 300 Log Recordkeeping.
OSHA’s New Updated Recordkeeping Rule includes two major changes:
OSHA defines an amputation as a traumatic loss of a limb or other external body part to include a part that has been severed, cut off, amputated (completely or partially); finger amputations with or without bone loss; medical amputation from irreparable damage; and amputations that have been medically reattached.
HOW TO REPORT TO OSHA (Three Options):
1). Call OSHA at 1-800-321-OSHA (6742)
2). Call Local OSHA Area Office during normal business hours
8 am – 5 pm M – F
3). Federal OSHA reports that a new Online reporting form will be available “soon.”

How to Report: – All reports are required to be made by telephone or in person at a DOLI office. Under no circumstances are fatality or catastrophe reports to be made by the use of e-mail or this Web site.
